Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent the Russian player won his initial title for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid season, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Presently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first trophy since the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt from March of 2023.
Success also means he has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct events.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is particularly special," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
His defensive strategy and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had prompted some to question if his capacity to play at the elite level was concluded.
However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
He came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the last five games to take the lead.
Both players traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first ATP Tour title, took control to push for a decider.
He saved four initial break points in a close final set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner secured the title with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
